Postcards from 2022
Oh 2022, what a year you were… Mostly fantastic. A few notable exceptions—kidney stones, bed bugs—but otherwise one for the books.
On the photography front, it was only the second year since 2016 where I didn’t take at least one big international trip for the express purpose of a travel photography project. In 2020, that was out of my control, but this year it was by choice. 2022 was my first full year living in the wonderful corner of the world that is the Pacific Northwest and I haven’t had the slightest inclination to explore beyond a ~400 mile radius emanating outward from the Space Needle. Glaciated mountains and volcanoes, rugged coastline, temperate rainforests, arid desert expanses, world class cities… For my taste, there’s not much missing.
I hope to spend even more time out with a camera exploring the PNW in 2023, but in the meantime, I’ll leave you with a selection of some of my favorite photos from the 2022 archive.
