Postcards from New Mexico

Earlier in October, I flew down to New Mexico for my grandpa’s 90th birthday. Again, not a photography trip, but I threw in my X-T5 just in case and I’m very glad I did. We woke up (very) early one morning and drove over to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta—an event that I was aware of, but didn’t really know much about.

It ended up being way more interesting than I’d expected and I’m so glad I had a camera with me. More than 500 giant hot air balloons all taking off from the same spot and spectators were just allowed to wander freely throughout the field.
