Postcards from Home in Seattle
Hi hello!
Looking at social media, it’s easy to think that you have to fly halfway around the world to make interesting travel photography, but there’s something to be said about exploring our own backyards. Getting to know a place deeply over a long period of time results in photographs that simply couldn’t have come from someone taking a quick vacation there. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to live somewhere as beautiful as Seattle…
I decided recently to dedicate a few days to exploring locally, aiming for some travel photography in (and near) my hometown of Seattle. I’ve lived here for about 3.5 years now, and think I’ve done a pretty good job of getting out and exploring, but there’s just so much I still haven’t seen, and the light is always different even when revisiting places I’ve been to a handful of times.
Up next: more Washington exploring, the Oregon Coast, Vancouver, California, Alaska, and lots more.
Thanks for your support, in all the forms that it takes,
Brian
